Senior Product Manager, Software Products

Our technology was developed at Caltech, deployed with research partners like NASA, proven-out with customers like Netflix and Children’s Hospital, and now scaling to fleets, corporations, and municipalities nationwide.
The Software Products team is responsible for the energy management platform, which orchestrates commercial solar and battery installations and EV Chargers. This role is responsible for the customer-facing portion of that platform, allowing customers, support agents and asset managers to monitor and control those distributed energy assets. This role is a great opportunity for someone with a product background and experience/interest in solar, battery storage or EV charging to jump into a startup environment and help build out one of the most comprehensive and compelling renewable energy management platforms.
Location
This role will be a hybrid position based out of our Mountain View, CA Office and the selected candidate will be expected to be in-person 3 days a week. We will only be able to consider applicants who are local to Mountain View, CA or are willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for defining and executing on a product vision, strategy, and roadmap that brings diverse elements into a cohesive solution that meets market needs. Specifically, you will:
- Lead the product strategy and roadmap for Powerflex’s energy management portal (Axcess)
- Collaborate closely with customers, customer service, asset management and business development teams to understand and meet their needs.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle from understanding customer needs, writing specs, prototyping, delivering beta and production functionality, measuring results and iterating.
- Work closely with other product managers to ensure integrated product development and the seamless operation of solutions.
- Be a user experience champion (working closely with UX) to ensure that the user experience is intuitive, scalable and optimizes for key use cases.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- 3+ years' experience as a product manager
- Strong background working for one or more technology companies as a product manager.
- Experience with EV charging hardware, photovoltaic systems or battery storage products.
- Solid understanding of the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to launch and post-launch support, with a strong track record of bringing successful products to market.
- Startup experience preferred
- A strong interest in renewable energy preferred

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and a strong attention to detail.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
- The ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, driving alignment, accountability, and results across diverse groups.
- Experience with energy management systems.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000 annually. This position is eligible for PowerFlex's comprehensive Health and Welfare plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off. The total compensation for this position may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable). PowerFlex's compensation packages carefully consider a candidate's qualifications, experiences, and education in relation to the position.
Physical Requirements
Remaining in a seated position. Long hours on computer keyboard. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
Working Conditions
Approximately 80% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe etc.), telephones, and general office equipment. Possibly 20% of the time is spent traveling to conferences or meetings or field traveling to project sites.
